Friday Inspiration - Birds and the Work of Trish Burr

We just returned from a week in California and one of the highlights of the trip was a stay in Humboldt County hiking in wildlife reserves.  If you enjoy being outdoors and seeing lots of birds, I highly recommend the Humboldt Bay Wildlife Refuge and the Arcata Marsh Wildlife Sanctuary!  The number of different species that winter over or pass through during migration is staggering!

Bewick's Wren

American Coots

Golden Crowned Sparrow

American Avocets and Marbled Godwits

Great Egret

Greater Yellowlegs

I've been fascinated with Trish Burr's embroidered birds for some time now and might be able to find time after the holidays to try transforming one of the photos I took.

Her website has nice tutorials, free patterns, and much more work to see.  And if you're in South Africa or London, she does give classes!

Happy Creating!  Deborah
